I figured I'd update to keep myself on track.

Alright, the journal title is the title to the novel I'm writing.

What is it about? A mute mage. I know, riveting. However there's more to the story; like an actual plot, people getting magicly brain-hemorrhaged and a demonic nymphomaniac.

Also, none of my monsters sparkle.

Will it be on DA? In its entirety, no. The thing with this story is I actually want to try and get it published. So wish me luck on that.

I will however be posting artwork related to the novel, including a map of the world and character concept art. My view is that if I discipline myself into focusing on the novel I can get it done in a year or two. Submitting my musings to DA will help me keep this focus.

Where do I expect to go with this novel? I expect nothing. I love the story and my characters. However, it is in my best interest to hope for the best and expect the worst. My goal is to get published and share my fantasy world with other fantasy fans like myself.

Here's to the next two years. Let's see what comes of it.

In other news, I also intend to do a couple video reviews on my YouTube channel.
The first one is a two part video review of the anime Black Lagoon. One for each of the seasons currently out. The next review will be a seven part series in which I review every book in Legend of the Five Rings: The Clan Wars.

Why did I pick these two things to review?
Because I think they deserve more press.

In the case of Black Lagoon, I want to support the DVD release.
Let's face it, the anime industry is going down the tubes and the only way to stabilize it again is to support the creators and license companies like Funimation by buying what they produce. We've already lost Geneon and Central Park Media. We can't lose Funimation and Viz too.
Don't get me wrong, I do not by any means support all dubs. In my humble opinion, 4kids deserves to go under, but companies that don't bastardize the source material and actually produce quality subs and dubs (Yes dubs. Good ones DO exist.) deserve the respect and payment for the wonderful work they do. If you are strapped for cash like I am but still want to keep up with anime, both Hulu and Funimation have started putting up full length episodes which you can watch for free and in some cases they'll even have the entire series up.
This October I watched the Funimation dub of Baccano! in its entirety for free.
And hey, streaming video sure beats those pesky download times and questionable sources doesn't it?
I'll admit, I used to pirate too, but now I see that the choices I make as a consumer effect the industry and the over all quality of shows as a whole. In fact, I've even stopped pirating music and plan on buying every single song I have ever downloaded once I have the money to afford it.
In this economy, it makes sense to support the industries we hold dear and make sure they don't tank.

Okay, rant over, thanks for listening.
